About US

Valarie, a proud native of Americus, a charming small town in rural South Georgia, has always harbored a deep passion for English and Literature. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southwestern State University, which launched her dynamic career as an educator.

Starting at Staley Middle School, Valarie taught ELA/Writing across various levels, and her commitment to excellence led her to earn a gifted endorsement in 2013. In 2019, she transitioned to the Dooly County School System as the K-8 Media Specialist, a role she embraced until her retirement. Her distinguished career includes serving as Department Chairperson for 7 years, Team Leader for 2 years, District Writing to Win Trainer for 2 years, and many other pivotal roles. She also coordinated the School and District Spelling Bees for 12 years, was an integral part of the School Leadership Team, and contributed to the Superintendent's Cabinet, among numerous other achievements. Additionally, Valarie has been a presenter at the Georgia Middle School Association Conference and participated in the Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement and the Summer Leadership and Curriculum Academy with Debbie Craven. Most importantly, she has inspired and educated thousands of students.

In 2013, Valarie welcomed her son, Brandon Levi Bridges, into the world, and she has been dedicated to “raising a great and powerful man.” Together, as a mother-son duo, they have overcome challenges and are building a legacy of love, strength, and excellence. Their first book, Good Morning, Levi, is part of the “Levi and Me” series, a motivational collection aimed at empowering African American boys.

Education remains Valarie’s passion, with a special focus on nurturing a love of reading and writing in young minds. Her dedication has been recognized with four STAR teacher awards and two Golden Apple Teacher awards from graduating seniors.

In 2021, Valarie and Brandon founded Levi's Studio, LLC, to create a vibrant space to inspire and encourage local students. Their goal is to share their enthusiasm for learning and literacy, offering a dynamic platform for educators and students globally.
